My Childhood Favorite with a Twist: Noodles and Green Beans with Asian Peanut Sauce
When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to eat was pasta and peanut butter. I don’t even know where I got the idea. Mom didn’t make it, my brothers didn’t eat it, but I absolutely loved it. I'm totally with you on the whole 'I used to eat this as a kid and loved it what do you mean it's not normal?' thing. Something I made recently was, essentially, a cornflake tart drowning in syrup because I used to have it when I was younger and I loved it. When I told other people about it, though, they gave me a really weird look, made an excuse and left. I still think it's delicious.
ReplyDeleteHaving said all that, I think your dish looks and sounds fantastic. We actually use crunchy peanut butter in our house to make peanut sauces - they're pretty much the same thing but a little thicker - so this is right up my alley.

Thanks, Jax. I always use crunchy peanut butter as well (I've never understood the desire for creamy peanut butter, but to each, his own).
ReplyDeleteThe cornflakes tart with syrup sounds pretty good too.
I love anything with a peanut sauce. I would walk a mile on broken glass for a bowl of Tan Tan noodle soup.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly enough my husband does the same - his "signature dish" was a "Peanut Butter Noodles" concoction.. lol. It tastes really good though! LOVE anything with satay or peanut sauce in it :)
ReplyDeleteOh, good! If there's two of us, then it can't be 'weird'. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun post...love the background:) Lovely dish!
